All Progressives Congress (APC) leader Mariam “Shetty” Shettima responded to the withdrawal of her ministerial nomination.
Prior to Maigari Mahmud, another Kano State native, being nominated in her place, President Bola Tinubu reportedly withdrew her nomination.
Recall that Tinubu sent 19 more ministerial nominees’ names on Wednesday to complement the 28 candidates he had already sent on August 2.
Shetty’s nomination for a ministerial position, however, elicited conflicting responses from Nigerians on social media, particularly Twitter, on Thursday.
Shetty responded to the news on Twitter on Friday, thanking President Tinubu for considering her deserving of the nomination in the first place.
The APC stalwart continued by expressing her gratitude and appreciation for the President’s decisions
I just learned at today’s plenary session that President Bola Ahmad Tinubu has withdrawn my nomination for minister and replaced it with Dr. Mairiga Mahmud, the woman wrote.
“I’m grateful and thankful for any decision from you My President!”
