Singer Adele announces break from music

Adele, an English singer, has declared that she will take a break from music to pursue new creative pursuits.

The ‘Hello’ singer, who has lived in the United States for the past two years, revealed that she will return to her own country after her residence expires in November.

She told fans not to expect new music from her, stating that she wants a “big break.”

“I don’t have plans for new music at all. I want a big break, and I think I want to do other creative things just for a little while,” Adele told German broadcaster ZDF.

The singer made a hint about it in January 2024 when she announced that she  was presented with an opportunity to do shows in Germany:

“I couldn’t think of a more wonderful way to spend my summer and end this beautiful phase of my life and career with shows closer to home during such an exciting summer.”

The 16-time Grammy winner’s last album was 2021’s ’30,’ which won the British Album Of The Year, at the Brit Awards in 2022.

Reacting to the post..

@wrong_kawaii said: “I was prepared to wait for five years, but this break might take 10.”

@iconickweenn requested: “Come back with an album called 69, Queenie.”

@hauntedaffairs asked: “Is she implying that the break between 25 and 30 was small?”

@rllyhis was distraught: “Who’s gonna give us sad bops now?”

In other news, Kate Henshaw, a popular Nigerian actress, has gone to the X platform to speak out against the concept of “African time.”

The term is frequently used to excuse lateness in various African societies.

Henshaw expressed her thoughts on X, severely criticizing the propensity of tardiness.

She wrote, “There is nothing like ‘African time.’ You are disrespectful and rude!! If it comes to money matters, you will be very early or you have an embassy appointment! Miss me with that attitude. I detest tardiness.”

The actress’ letter expresses her dissatisfaction with people who use cultural norms as an excuse for being late.

She noted that people who are late for other appointments can be on time for money matters or essential meetings, such as embassy appointments.

Many of Kate’s followers agreed with her stance against the “African time” concept, therefore her message was well received.
