On August 16, 2024, Asake began his ‘Lungu Boy’ tour with a sold-out performance at the Capital One Arena in Washington DC.
He entertained the crowd with his hit singles and tracks from his newly released third album ‘Lungu Boy’.
Asake’s ‘Lungu Boy’ tour will visit 6 cities in the US. He will perform at major venues like the Toyota Centre in Houston, State Farm Arena in Atlanta, and Madison Square Garden in New York.
This tour follows the launch of his third album, ‘Lungu Boy,’ which includes collaborations with stars like Grammy winner Wizkid, British rappers Central Cee and Stormzy, American artist Travis Scott, and Brazilian singer Ludmilla.
Asake’s album ‘Lungu Boy’ achieved a new record for the highest opening week on Spotify Nigeria, reaching 18.9 million streams. This surpasses the former record of 14.4 million streams set by Davido’s ‘Timeless’.
Asake’s song ‘Lungu Boy’ tops the chart for the biggest opening week on Spotify Nigeria, surpassing hits from Davido, Rema, Burna Boy, and Wizkid. He is also the only artist with two albums in the top 10, as his second album ‘Work Of Art’ achieved 8.3 million streams in its first week.
‘Lungu Boy’ broke the record for the most global streams on the first day for a Nigerian album on Spotify, totaling 9.2 million streams.
The second track of ‘MMS’ reached 870,577 streams on its debut day on Spotify Nigeria. This sets a new record, surpassing the former record of 626,000 streams by Wizkid’s ‘IDK’ featuring Zlatan.
