Nigerian artist Blackface has penned an open letter to his ex-bandmate, 2Face, and his wife, Annie Idibia, regarding their divorce drama.
In a post on X, Blackface urged the couple to maintain some decorum and deal with their divorce in a civil manner. He emphasized the need to set a positive example for for this generation to emulate.
“I bid to you both good tidings Mr & Mrs Idibia. I am reaching out to you guys at this time to remind us to show decorum and be civil with whatever proceedings you may be going through.
As role models, we should always set good examples for this generation to emulate, and the older generations to be proud of.
Let’s keep it together in the family as every relationship has its ups and downs.
I pray God gives you both the strength to scale through this.
My regards to your families and my love to your kids. With Love Blackfacenaija”.
In other news, Nigerian media personality Tolu Oniru, also known as Toolz, has slammed musician 2Face for publicly announcing his divorce from his wife, Annie.
In a recent episode of her podcast ‘Off Air,’ Toolz stated that the couple should have handled the divorce quietly.
She also noted that the timing was wrong, since Annie was already experiencing heat for her appearance on the Young, Famous, and African reality show.
In a recent episode of her podcast, ‘Off Air,’ Toolz stated that the couple should have handled their divorce quietly.
She said, “There is a lot that goes on in marriages. They [2face and Annie] have had very public ups and downs. But I just feel that this is something they could have handled privately, especially with what was going on with Annie at that point.
“It didn’t need to come out now. People get divorced privately all the time. Everybody knows that Annie loves 2Face very much. It quite sad for a lot of people because when you think about there love journey, everybody wanted a happy-ever-after for her but life happened.
“I feel like somebody you got married to, at some point, I imagined you loved, mother of your children, everything, when she’s going through something really public and people are attacking her, it’s not nice to just come and announced that you’re divorcing her that same period.”
