Singer Burna Boy to host YouTube Music Nights to celebrate African Giant 5th year

YouTube Music Nights will host a special live event with Burna Boy to commemorate the 5-year anniversary of his critically acclaimed album, ‘African Giant’.

The exclusive event, scheduled for July 26, 2024, will be livestreamed on Burna Boy’s YouTube page, allowing fans worldwide to participate.

The intimate performance will feature record hits such as ‘On The Low’, ‘Gbona’, and ‘Killing Dem’, which propelled Burna Boy to international stardom.

Burns Boy expressed his excitement for the event, saying: “Celebrating the 5th anniversary of ‘African Giant’ with a special performance in London, supported by YouTube Music, has been an incredible experience. This album holds a special place in my heart as it represents a pivotal moment in my career and a powerful statement of African pride.”

According to Addy Awofisayo, Head of Music at YouTube in Africa, “We are thrilled to present Burna Boy on YouTube Music Nights, celebrating the 5th anniversary of his groundbreaking album, African Giant”.

The live stream event promises to be an extraordinary night of music that honors ‘African Giant’s impact and legacy’.

Burna Boy’s YouTube channel has 5 million subscribers and will throw an exciting celebration to bring fans closer to the artist and his music.

In other news, Innocent Ujah Idibia, aka 2Baba, a Nigerian musician, has stated that his colleague Burna Boy is currently among the top five musicians in the world.

2Baba, who made the statement while reacting to a video of Burna Boy performing his hit song ‘Last Last’ at a festival in Europe, explained that he was inspired.

He also stated that Burna Boy’s global success was “all a dream.”

He wrote, “Burna [Boy] is in the Top 5 music artists in the world right now. I say this from an inspirational place, it was all a dream.”

According to reports, Burna Boy became the first African musician to sell out the London Stadium twice last month.

At his sold-out show at Koko Camden in London, he was also received a Brit plaque for being the first African singer to earn 2 billion streams in the UK.
