Singer J. Martins announces passing of his mother

  • Nigerian singer J. Martins has announced the death of his mother.
    • The 48-year-old, who has shared his gratitude on his Instagram page, expressed his deep appreciation for the life his mother lived.

Nigerian artist Martins Justice, widely recognized as J. Martins, announced the passing of his mother on Sunday.

The 48-year-old took to his verified Instagram account to express his gratitude to God for the life his mother led.

“Oh give thanks unto the Lord. For he is good and His mercies endureth forever. The Lord gave. The Lord has taken. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Amen,” he wrote.

In his message, the singer also extended his appreciation to his fans and supporters for their kindness and urged them to pray for him and his siblings during this challenging period.

In other news, Actress Iyabo Ojo expressed her regret about supporting the exhumation of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba Mohbad.

In a conversation with Seun Oloketuyi, she mentioned that she wishes she hadn’t been involved in the push for Mohbad’s body to be dug up.

The mother of two revealed that it has been more than a year since Mohbad’s body was dug up, and he still hasn’t been reburied.

She said a viral video showing what looked like a broken neck in the casket made her decide to speak out.

“As a mother, I had to vent, because everyone was emotional at that time, I really wish that we didn’t have to push for him to be exhumed. Till now he is yet to be buried. The video of his neck being broken in the casket I think that was what pushed me out to speak, I regret ever pushing for him to be exhumed,” she said.

Recall that Mohbad died on September 12, 2023, and was buried the day after.

On September 21, 2023, the Lagos state police exhumed his body for an autopsy due to public outcry for justice over his death.

In October 2023, the singer’s father, Joseph Aloba, said that they would not rebury Mohbad until a DNA test is done on his son, Liam.

Since then, Mohbad has not been reburied.

In the same interview, the actress mentioned that she thinks the blessings she and her children are receiving now come from her good actions.

“Good pay. I feel like what I am reaping today or my children are reaping today is the good that I have done,” she said.
