The artist shared this information on his Instagram account, announcing that the track titled ‘Baby (Is It A Crime)’ is set to be released on Friday, February 7, 2025.

This new song incorporates elements from ‘Is It A Crime,’ a track from the renowned British band Sade’s iconic album ‘Promise.’ ‘Baby (Is It A Crime)’ will mark Rema’s first release of 2025, following his nomination for Best Global Album at the 2025 Grammys.

The award in that category was awarded to American artist Matt B & the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for their album ‘Alkebulan II.’

This upcoming single is Rema’s first since the launch of his sophomore album ‘HEIS’ in 2024.

The acclaimed artist characterized this energetic, party-oriented project as a homage to the rich legacy of Nigerian music, emphasizing the importance of introspection within the industry.

Additionally, Rema has recently announced the dates for his forthcoming European tour, which includes a performance at the 20K Accor Arena in France.

With the release of his next single, Rema aims to sustain his successful trajectory, which has garnered him numerous accolades, including being the first Afrobeats artist to achieve 1 billion streams on Spotify and 1 billion views on YouTube.
