Selena Gomez, a well-known singer and actress in the United States, has responded to a demand for her deportation following her emotional reaction to the recent ICE raids conducted under the Trump administration.
According to Gistlover, the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), along with other agencies, executed nationwide raids on a Sunday.
On the following day, ICE reported that more than 1,100 undocumented immigrants were detained across the country.
In a now-deleted video shared on her Instagram account, Gomez expressed her compassion for those impacted by the raids. While visibly upset about the deportation of Mexicans, the 32-year-old, who has Mexican roots, stated, “I’m so sorry. All my people are getting attacked. The children, I don’t understand. I wish I could do something. I will try everything, I promise.”
In reaction to her comments, former U.S. Senate candidate Sam Parker called for Gomez’s deportation, asserting, “Deport Selena Gomez. She picked illegals over America because she’s the 3rd gen descendent of Mexican illegals who received citizenship in the ’87 Amnesty.
“She has entitlement attitude toward America, like her illegal parents. Maybe Selena should be deported, too?”
In response to the call for her deportation, the Grammy-winning artist addressed Parker in an Instagram story, saying, “Oh Mr Parker, Mr Parker. Thanks for the laugh and the threat.”
