Nigerian artist Anthony Ebuka Victor, widely recognized as Victony, has credited his career achievements to the success of his popular track ‘Soweto.’
He remarked that this global sensation significantly altered the course of his life.
Victony shared these insights in a recent interview with Sound City.
His words:
“‘Soweto’ changed my life. It changed my life in the sense that I was able to travelled to places I didn’t believe that I would get to in a very short time.
“The song was already successful in late 2022, and in 2023, we wanted to maintain that success so we employed Don Toliver and Rema on the remix. They’re very big names and their sounds are not far from what ‘Soweto’ sound like.”
Victony stated that he is presently an independent artist.

While speaking with Adesope, he mentioned that he was still recovering and had four surgeries thus far. He mentioned that he would still do one more surgery after his music tour.
Victony expressed his heartfelt thankfulness to God for saving his life and keeping him. He stated that just being able to go in and out of the hospital is a huge blessing to him.
