Davita Lamai, Zlatan’s baby mama, has rushed to her son’s rescue following criticism by netizens over his worried reaction to some street boys peeping through his father’s car window.
Nigerians viewed the movie as mocking and disrespectful to the street boys who attempted to beg for money.
She added that her son is kind and compassionate but she has had to teach him to be cautious in a place where security is a concern.
She explained that even as an adult, she is afraid when confronted with similar scenarios, and that it is about valuing safety over compassion.
She highlighted the importance of distinguishing between being kind and being safe, particularly in an unsafe environment.
Following her son’s terrified reaction to seeing some street youths try to beg money from Zlatan in a viral video, her response sought to provide context and understanding.
