Nigerian artist Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, known as Skales, has reacted to a social media user who claimed that Burna Boy helped bring his career back to life.

The debate began when a critic commented on Skales’ post, labeling his career as “dead” and saying it was revived thanks to Burna Boy.

The critic pointed out the 2017 remix of Skales’ popular song ‘Temper,’ which included Burna Boy and was nominated for Best Collaboration at the 2018 Headies.

“This is the more reason why everyone hates you mf. Burnaboy was part of the people that helped your dead career,” the user’s post reads.

Skales quickly rejected the claim, stating that the Grammy winner had no role in his success.

The 33-year-old singer pointed out that his partnership with Burna Boy was good for both of them. Skales shared this on the social media platform X.

“Listen I will defend myself always, I love Burna but don’t you ever say he helped me. No one helped me! Only my fans and God’s grace. We do collabo wey all of us benefit from. If the thing no benefit us, we no go dey perform for our different sets.”

Following a fan’s comment about Wizkid’s role in his success, Skales addressed the issue.

He pointed out that Wizkid did not aid him and highlighted the contributions of other artists in his journey.

Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, known as Skales, began writing rap songs in 2000. He has worked with many famous artists like Akon, Banky W, and Falz.
