Nigerian skitmaker Kemi Ikuseedun, known as Mummy Wa, has revealed that she has experienced sexual harassment within the film industry.
She made this disclosure during a discussion on the WithChude podcast.
Mummy Wa, also referred to as Kemz Mama, shared that she encountered unsolicited sexual propositions from filmmakers while working to build her career.
The content creator emphasized that she declined these advances, recognizing that they would not ensure her the desired role.
“What I said related more behind the scenes, not even as an actor. Behind the scenes, a lot of people are asking for things. They are asking for a whole lot of things. But me I cannot do it,” she said.
“Where do I want to start from? How do I want to even do it? Me that I am already coming from a place where they tell me ‘this thing will not work’. How many people do you want to sleep with? “To be honest with you, you might actually sleep with somebody in the movie industry and the role they will give you, will not ‘blow! You will still be there.
“Me entering entertainment, I saw a lot of men. But guess what? Even the ones that do not have anything; that are slim, they are still asking for things from them.
“No woman is free. No woman is immune. But me, I cannot do it.”
