The Sokoto State Government has started providing antimalarial medications, fumigation activities, and treated nets coated with insecticides to internally displaced people in the state.
Alhaji Idris Gobir, the deputy governor of Sokoto state, officially opened the exercise on Saturday at the Ramin Kura IDP camp in the Sokoto North Local Government area of the state.
Gobir emphasized that the current administration had taken proactive steps to guarantee that they return to their home settlements and resume their regular livelihood activities, and he urged people of IDP camps to view their situation as destiny.
He stated that the Aliyu administration has made a commitment to guaranteeing an improvement in every area of the inhabitants’ well-being.
He claims that the action aims to reverse the terrible policies of the former administration that resulted in the environment and people being ignored.
Gobir assured those in need and those who are less fortunate that the state will continue to support them.
Hajia Asabe Balarabe, the state commissioner for health, stated in her remarks that the initiative’s goal was to make sure that internally displaced people (IDPs) were taken into account in all government operations and had a sense of community.
According to Balarabe, the state administration has planned initiatives to protect people’s lives.
She thanked government agencies, community organizations, and donor groups for their assistance and urged them to keep doing so in order to recognize the importance of encouraging healthy people throughout the nation.
Earlier, Alhaji Namadina Ibrahim, the Special Adviser to Aliyu on Malaria Control Agency said the ITNs along with other medications were being distributed for free and urged beneficiaries to utilise the items effectively.
