Solomon Buchi weighs in on the baby mama trend in the entertainment industry

Controversial Life coach Solomon Buchi has reacted to the ‘baby mama‘ trend rocking the Nigerian entertainment industry.

The self-acclaimed Africa’s most radical male feminist, who is known for his dishing out relationship advice from a Godly perspective took a swipe at celebrities who get pregnant or impregnate their partners before marriage.

According to Buchi, the act is a deliberate one by celebrities and it’s not the proper way… Simply put, “pregnancy before marriage is off”.

Without mentioning the names of any celebrity, Buchi noted that celebrities who indulge in such acts are highly loved; but he questioned how they are “shaping marriage to their followers who lack foundational moral values”.

Buchi who is also a writer noted that there was a time parents hid their children who get pregnant before marriage. However, the reverse is the case now.

He wrote:

I’ve noticed a trend amongst Nigerian celebrities and it’s worth talking about. They get pregnant or impregnate their partners before marriage; some even have kids before marriage, and it appears to me as deliberate. This is not the culture. Pregnancy before marriage is off.

I can mention names, but I’m targeting nobody. This is a general post based on my observations, and these celebrities are highly loved. I begin to wonder how they are shaping marriage to their followers who lack foundational moral values.

One of the celebrities got pregnant first, then they did traditional marriage before they did engagement, and then marriage. How weird? Things have been haphazardly rearranged; moral structure has been hacked. It’s worrisome.

It’s bothersome. There was a time that getting pregnant before marriage wasn’t a thing to put out publicly. Parents will hide it. How much more about being proud of it publicly and acting as though, it is right?

People make mistakes, life happens, I get that. But we shouldn’t wear our mistakes on our sleeves and harp about it as a standard. We are trivializing the sacredness of marriage. The fact remains that marriage gives a huge sense of security.

Sex in marriage gives a huge sense of security; pregnancy and childbirth in marriage gives a huge sense of security. It’s an old and foundational truth. Let’s not promote sick and twisted ideologies. Sex, pregnancy, childbirth should happen in marriage.
