South African Police Caught Looting(VIDEO)

A South African Policeman has been caught by his colleagues while trying to get away with looted goods amidst the ongoing violent protests and looting in the country.

He was caught while in police uniform with a police vehicle trying to escape. He had with him stolen groceries in the trunk and at the backseat of the car.

The looting and violence started on Friday, 9th July 2021 when it was announced that the Former President of the nation, Jacob Zuma had been arrested and imprisoned.

This sparked violence in his home region, the southeast province of KwaZulu-Natal. One of the first recorded cases of looting happened at a retail shop in Durban early Monday morning (12th July 2021).

The incident has left a recorded number of 72 people dead and more than 1,200 people arrested as of now. Normal civilians were captured on tape shooting at their fellow citizens as the violence erupted.

Defense Minister of South Africa, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula has announced that she has requested the deployment of 25,000 soldiers to provinces hit by the violence.
