Nigerian musician, Daniel Benson who is simply known as Buju has reacted to news about his exit from Burna Boy’s independent record label, Spaceship Collective.
Buju was previously a signed artist on Burna Boy’s label, Spaceship Collective for a year where he went on to release some songs. He worked with Burna Boy, Wizkid, Zlatan, and a few artists during his short stint at the label.
He is now on a mission to make a name for himself as he aims for hit songs and the massive success of the charting boards to reach the peak in his career.
In an Interview with Kojo Manuel on Y107.9FM’s Dryve of Your Lyfe show, Buju was quizzed about the reason he decided to leave the label.
According to him, he parted ways with the label amicably and both parties came to an understanding when his contract ended.
In his words: “The love and respect for Burna as a person, as an artiste and as a mentor generally, stays forever because I still have that love for the record, the persona, and everything but sometimes, plans have to change and strategies have to change. It’s only right sometimes for growth”
“It just came to the end of the contract road and everybody was just looking for better. I was just looking for better so it’s not our relationships that went sour or anything, we just did what was accorded on paper”.
