Nigerian artist Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, has publicly criticized fellow singer Habeeb Olalomi Badmus, also known as Portable, for allegedly disrespecting his mother.
The dispute arose after Speed Darlington extended an invitation to Portable to perform at his upcoming concert on April 13, 2025. However, rather than simply declining the offer, Portable allegedly responded with offensive remarks directed at Speed Darlington’s mother.
Expressing his frustration in a viral video, Speed Darlington claimed that Portable’s reaction was not just a refusal but a personal attack. While the specific words used by Portable remain unclear, the accusation has sparked widespread discussion among fans and on social media.
The incident highlights the turbulent relationship between the two artists, who have had both moments of collaboration and public disputes in the past. Speed Darlington’s invitation was initially perceived as an effort to mend fences, considering their history of verbal altercations.
According to Speed Darlington, he personally reached out to Portable with a performance offer, but the response was far from cordial. The situation escalated when Portable allegedly included derogatory comments about Speed Darlington’s mother, further fueling tensions.
Visibly angered, Speed Darlington took to social media to denounce Portable’s alleged remarks. What was meant to be a gesture of reconciliation has instead intensified their rivalry, turning what could have been a professional collaboration into yet another public feud.
