Speed Darlington Explains How He Was Rearrested For The Second Time

Nigerian rapper Darlington Okoye, known as Speed Darlington, shared with his fans the surprising experience he had during his recent rearrest.

He was taken into custody for the second time after making defamatory statements about his fellow artist Burna Boy and his connection with American rapper Diddy.

The Cash and Carry singer claimed in several videos that Burna Boy bought his Grammy Awards in 2021, amid the many legal troubles the rapper is dealing with in the US.

After getting out of his first arrest, the controversial artist released a new song called Baby Oil, along with a music video.

It was said that the second arrest took place in Owerri, Imo state. Speed Darlington was on stage at an event when he was taken by the police.

Recounting how it happened, Akpi, as his fans affectionately called him, shared that two police squads took him by surprise while he was leaving the area.

The rapper explained that he assumed his host sent the police to help him get to his hotel.

He only figured out he was arrested 12 seconds into the crowd’s panic. He complained about being gone for 2 months.

Posting a video from his final performance before the arrest, he wrote:

“After I measured this booty right there in Owerri, 30 minutes later I came outside to go back to hotel because my obligation to the host has been fulfilled that’s when two squads of police rushed me and ruffle me up. The whole time I thought my host is trying to make me special by giving me esccort to my hotel from the venue since he was unable to provide it from hotel to the venue.. it took like 12 seconds or more before I realised that I’m on under arrest just like that I was gone for two months.”
