Davido, the award-winning Afrobeat singer, has issued a public statement following the announcement that he and his wife, Chioma, had twins.
Davido took to Twitter to caution the public not to circulate a photo of him and Chioma on a hospital bed after they welcomed their late son, Ifeanyi.
“Stop circulating old pictures thank you”, he tweeted.
On Tuesday, it was reported that Davido and his wife, Chioma, had welcomed twins.
Though the couple has yet to confirm the news, Davido fanned the suspicions when he indicated in his song ‘In The Garden,’ which includes Morravey, that his wife would become a ‘Mama Ibeji’ (mother of twins).
On Sunday, the musician also tweeted that this week would be the best week of his life.
Adewale Adeleke, his brother, stoked the allegations further by thanking God on Twitter.
Though not revealing further, he tweeted, “We thank God”.
Adding to the speculation, music executive Ovie revealed that he had confirmed the news.
He congratulated the couple and mentioned how God blessed them twice.
Meanwhile, investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo validated the allegations when she revealed information about the twins’ birth.
Chioma gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl, on Monday, October 9, 2023 at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, US, according to Kemi.
Chioma, who had been on bed rest for 90 days, she claimed, gave birth to twins via cesarean section (CS) at 38 weeks.
Many celebrities have congratulated the couple on the birth of their baby child. Iyabo Ojo, Junior Pope, Daddy Freeze, Victoria Inyama, and Susan Peters have all congratulated the pair.
