“Stop using Yoruba, you won’t go far” – Netizens troll Asake over his newly released album ‘Work of Art’

Asake, a well-known Nigerian artist, finally announced the release of his second album, Work of Art, yesterday, May 15, 2023, and consequently received a variety of responses.

Asake, who is a recording artist for the YBNL record label run by Olamide, enthusiastically shared his most recent body of work on social media.

Only Olamide was included on the fourteen (14) track album called Work of Art. The 14 recordings also feature three songs he had previously released: Yoga, 2:30, and Amapiano.

This comes after Asake’s “Mr Money With The Vibe” studio album, which was released on September 8, 2022.

However, some of Asake’s fans did not enjoy the new album, and as a result, it has drawn criticism.

Many of his non-Yoruba speaking followers expressed their extreme unhappiness, stating that Asake went too far by using too much Yoruba in his lyrics and that he won’t get very far if he doesn’t stop.
