Self-acclaimed journalist Kemi Olunloyo has however leapt to the defense of music artist Kizz Daniel following his arrest and release in Tanzania.
Kemi claims the Buga crooner did nothing wrong, despite failing to perform at a paid show.
The retired journalist also knocked the show promoter for being biased, desperate and hungry.
She questioned if the same treatment would have been meted out on his other more popular colleagues, like Davido and Wizkid, if they failed to turn up for a show for any reason.
Kemi Olunloyo wrote:
“WELLNESS AND EVERYONE: Vado @kizzdaniel #Babalbeji did nothing wrong. I once declared him as one of the BEST artists in IN in 2016.
If I have a presentation in a foreign country and my luggage did not arrive, I won’t do it. Ask BBC when my interview was canceled and rescheduled for a similar reason.
The promoter who went on Daddy Freeze is a hungry desperate MF.
$300K k0? If you promoted a Wizkid or OBO concert for $700K and they refused to perform because something in the missing luggage was necessary for the show, you POSTPONE or CANCEL THE SHOW.
AND START ISSUING REFUNDS. You won’t have Wiz or OBO arrested.
Just another East African music industry shenanigan that eventually blows the West African artist internationally, just ask @omah_lay and @temsbaby AND SHAME on the media who reported the content of his luggage.
Gold chain or not, the public did not have to know what he needed to perform. An artist’s luggage first before the show. Personal items like medications etc could be in there.”
