The Kwara State government started disbursement support fund for an additional 20, 751 beneficiaries yesterday.

Petty traders, widows, and other vulnerable individuals were the recipients of an additional layer of the state government’s social assistance program, which was implemented in response to the loss of gasoline subsidies.

The most recent intervention is the second in three months, according to Dr. Olayinka Tejidini, general manager of the Kwara State Social Investment Program (KWASSIP).

According to Tejidini “the government provided support funds to at least 13, 416 citizens in the first phase in August.”

He continued by saying that the intervention has been approved for 1,569 widows, 1,611 small business owners, 12,500 juveniles for Kwara public welfare, and 5, 071 individuals who were previously included under the safety net.

Tejidini said   the slew of palliatives rolled out by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq underscored his commitment to the welfare of the people and the development of the state.

The governor has approved the disbursement of fresh support to give a raise to the petty traders and provide relief to the indigent. We are determined to walk through this time with our people. He is deeply committed to ensuring help gets to the deserving, especially in the underserved communities in the state,” he said.
