Sun Newspaper Sacks Deputy MD and Several Senior Managers

The management of the Sun Newspapers has sacked its top hands ‘including Deputy Managing Director, Steve Nwosu.

Others affected are the Editor of the Sunday title, Fatai Oladehinde; Ikenna Emehu; Editor, Sporting Sun, John Joshua Akanji; Yinka Fabowale; and Emeka Okoroyanwu.

A senior staff of the Editorial Department, Bolaji Tunji, was said to have resigned before the sack letters were handed out.  It was gathered several other staffers were equally affected in the exercise the management said aimed at repositioning the company.

The mass sack was reportedly directed by its Publisher and former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu.
