Supreme court affirms Adeleke as PDP candidate, dismisses Babayemi’s appeal

  • Senetor Ademola Adeleke won against Prince Dotun Bayemei as Supreme court dismisses his appeal
  • Babayemi emerged from a parallel primary election that was held by a faction of the party in the State.

Senator Ademola Adeleke has been affirmed as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the Governor-elect of Osun State by the Supreme Court, on Thursday. Adeleke was declared the winner of the gubernatorial election that held in the State on July 16. The apex court, in a unanimous judgement by a five-man panel of justices, dismissed an appeal that was lodged against Adeleke by Prince Dotun Babayemi who laid claim to the governorship ticket of the PDP. Babayemi emerged from a parallel primary election that was held by a faction of the party in the State.
