Suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara Makes First Public Appearance Amid State of Emergency

Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has resurfaced publicly for the first time following his suspension and the declaration of a state of emergency in the state by President Bola Tinubu.

Fubara Attends Church Service in Port Harcourt

Fubara was spotted on Sunday, March 23, 2025, attending a church service at the global headquarters of Salvation Ministries in Port Harcourt.

He arrived at the church around 10 a.m. in a six-car convoy, accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie, and a team of security aides.

This appearance comes days after his suspension alongside his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu, and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly in a nationwide broadcast on March 18, 2025.

Amid Speculation, Fubara’s Media Team Breaks Silence

Since the emergency declaration, there have been rumors regarding Fubara’s safety and whereabouts, with some reports claiming he had relocated to Bayelsa State Government House in Yenagoa.

However, his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, has dismissed the claims, reassuring the public that the governor is safe and in good condition.

“Forget about what you are reading on social media. The governor is safe and doing well,” Chukwudi told reporters.

With the state of emergency in effect, political tensions remain high in Rivers State. Do you think Fubara will regain control, or is this the end of his administration? Drop your thoughts below!
