Famous Ghanaian boxer Ayitey Powers, whose real name is Michael Ayitey Okine, has revealed that the passing of Nigerian prophet TB Joshua hit him harder than the death of his own parents.

In an interview with Giovani Caleb on TV3’s Showbiz 360 on Saturday, August 17, 2024, Ayitey Powers discussed his close bond with the late prophet and how he frequently sought his guidance.

He recalled that TB Joshua had invited him to his church just before he died unexpectedly. Sadly, the former boxer admitted he couldn’t attend before he heard the news of TB Joshua’s death.

Thinking about this loss, he expressed his shock, saying, “Sometimes when I think about his death, I realize that God works in mysterious ways. How could Prophet TB Joshua die at that age? He called me to visit his church, but I delayed, and he passed away. He mentioned he wouldn’t celebrate his birthday, and we didn’t know he was going to die.
