A Nigerian social media user named Kosi Ugo recently caught attention with a long post he shared about Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems, who just won a Grammy.

It’s worth noting that Tems sampled the original track ‘Love Me Jeje’ for a song that won the Best African Music Performance award.

Ugo’s message criticized Tems and undermined her work in the Nigerian music industry. He described the 29-year-old as overhyped and compared her to Portable Zazu, stating that no one really pays attention to either of them.

The first time I listened to her remake of Love Me Jeje, I shook my head in disgust. Like, how do you ruin a classic like that?”

“The worst of all is her stage performance!!! Have you watched any of her stage performances? She always sounds lost!! Screaming on top of her voice like a bush baby and always missing the rhythm like a drummer that drank ogogoro before mounting his drums.”
