Tems becomes first female Nigerian artiste to make solo debut on Billboard Hot 100

Naturally gifted Nigerian female vocalist and producer, Temilade Openiyi, professionally called Tems continues her rapid rise to the top of African music royalty.

The buzzing songstress, songwriter, performing artiste and 2022 BET Awards Best International Act winner, Tems has made her solo debut on the Billboard Hot 100 charts with her hit song ‘Free Mind’.

‘Free Mind’ happens to be the 3rd track off her 7 tracked EP; “For Broken Ears” which was released on Friday, 25 September, 2020 and has amassed impressive numbers on streaming platforms and has also gathered positive reviews from music enthusiasts.

The multiple award-winning singer has bagged a new feat and achievement worth mentioning in the music industry as she becomes the first and only Nigerian female artist to make her debut on the Billboard Hot 100 charts with her hit song ‘Free Mind’.

The masterpiece since its release has finally made its official and first appearance on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. ‘Free Mind’ currently occupy the 90th spot on the music chart. This is Tems fourth appearance on the chart following appearances with Wizkid, Drake and Future.
