Grammy Award winner Temilade Openiyi, known as Tems, responded on social media to Davido after he congratulated her for winning Best African Music Performance.
Tems, famous for her song “Try Me,” received her second Grammy Award at the 67th Grammy Awards held on January 2nd, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, USA, even with the recent wildfires affecting parts of the city.
Tems has proven her talent on the world stage by winning the Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance for her popular song “Love Me Jeje” at the 67th Grammy Awards.
She beat out strong competitors like Yemi Alade’s Tomorrow, Asake featuring Wizkid’s MMS, Chris Brown featuring Davido and Lojay’s Sensational, and Burna Boy’s Higher.
After losing the Grammy Award to Tems, singer Davido, who has been nominated four times without winning, showed grace by congratulating Tems on his verified X page.
Davido wrote; “Congratulations to my one and only 🐐 ! @chrisbrown ! And to the Queen @temsbaby we are proud of you! 💪🏾🌎⭐️.”
However, Tems after seeing the congratulatory message from Davido she wasted no time in replying the superstar Afrobeats sensation as she thanked him for congratulating her.
Tems replied; “Thank you so much 🙏🏿🙏🏿.”
