Rotimi Akeredolu who emerged Governor of Ondo State on the 24 February 2017, has been reported dead.
The 67-year-old, who was elected on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform, passed away from leukemia.
There are rumors that Akeredolu passed away in Lagos State, under the care of State House physicians until his passing.
According to Naija News, the governor delegated authority to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on December 13 so that he could receive medical attention in Germany after it was reported that his health had gotten worse.
He survive with his wife, Betty, and their four children .

– On July 21, 1956, Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu was born in Owo.
– He was born into the family of Lady Evangelist Grace B. Akeredolu of the Aderoyiju family of Igbotu, Ese Odo, in Ondo State, and Reverend J. Ola Akeredolu of the Akeredolu family.
– Akeredolu commenced his elementary schooling at the Owo government school.
– For his secondary schooling and Higher School Certificate, he went to Aquinas College, Akure; Loyola College, Ibadan; and a comprehensive high school, Ayetoro, respectively.
– His legal studies at the University of Ife (now known as Obafemi Awolowo University) him graduate in 1977.
– In 1978, Akeredolu was called the Nigerian Bar.
– In 2008, the Nigerian Bar Association elected him as its president, and he was a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
– Together with Akin Olujinmi, a former Nigerian Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Akeredolu co-founded Olujinmi & Akeredolu, where he served as a Managing Partner.
– From 1997 until 1999, Akeredolu served as the Attorney General of Ondo State.
– Akeredolu received the national honor of the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) from President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria in October 2022.
