Pep Guardiola has revealed that he does not plan on carrying on coaching for much longer after telling NBC, “I will be at Manchester for the next three seasons, maybe more, but I am arriving at the end of my coaching career, of this I am sure.
” The Manchester City manager took charge of the Premier League side six months ago and added, “I will not be on the bench until I am 60 or 65 years old. I feel that the process of my goodbye has already started.”
Guardiola has been a manager at the top for less than nine years and on January 18th will celebrate his 46th birthday. He took over at Barcelona in 2008 and led the team through an exceptional period of success over the course of the next four years.
In this time, he won three league titles, three Spanish Super Cups along with a brace of Copa del Reys, Champions Leagues, European Super Cups and Club World Cups. Following a sabbatical from the sideline, during which he lived in the United States, he signed a contract with Bayern Munich.
He would continue in a similar winning pattern at the German club and wond three Bundesligas, two cups, one European Super Cup and a Club World Cup.
