Actor turned politician, Yul Edochie’s announcement to suspend his presidential ambition ahead of the 2023 general elections has stirred mixed reactions online.
Though the actor based his reason for his decision on his party’s capacity to win a presidential election, mlaim the candidacy of political gladiators: Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, influenced his resolution.
On Twitter, the actor wrote: “I wanted to run for President with APGA. After much consultations & meetings.
“We sat and did our evaluations. We put sentiments aside & embraced facts. Our party is good but does not have the capacity at the moment to win a Presidential seat. So I didn’t move further.”
@Bara James reacted saying: “We know you are scared. The fear of Atiku and Tinubu…”
@Loveth Isaac: “You can’t even win a local government election, let alone defeat Atiku and Tinubu.”
