Former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has reacted after the Labour Party (LP) vice presidential candidate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, admitted he is inactive on social media.
Recall that few weeks ago, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, stirred reactions online when he said that 90% of Northerners are not on social media.
On Monday, 1st August, Yusuf raised alarm over fake social media accounts impersonating him following his inactiveness online.
Reacting to this, Reno in a post shared on Instagram, said Baba-Ahmed’s admission to inactiveness on social media is a strong vindication of Atiku’s earlier statement.
According to Reno, Northerners have access to the internet but are not on social media like other parts of the country.
He added that the LP vice presidential candidate cannot be described as an illiterate because he is not active on social media.
He wrote: “The Labour Party Vice Presidential candidate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed’s, admission that he has been inactive on social media is a strong vindication of Waziri Atiku Abubakar’s declaration that 90% of Northerners are not on social media. Not that they are not on the Internet. They are. Just not on social media.
“It is also proof of my assertion that not being on social media does not mean that you are not educated or enlightened. Datti Baba-Ahmed cannot be described as an illiterate. The man owns and runs a university for goodness sake. Yet, he is not active on social media”
