“The world now respects Africans” – Davido says

  • Nigerian singer David Adeleke, also known as Davido, has praised the cultural renaissance in Africa for positively enhancing the continent’s image.
  • The global achievements of Afrobeats, along with Africa’s cuisine and culture, have earned respect for Africans in the Western world.

Nigerian artist David Adeleke, often known as Davido, has remarked that Africa’s present cultural rebirth has a good impact on the continent’s image.

He stated that the global success of genres such as Afrobeats, as well as Africa’s cuisine and overall culture, had gained respect for Africans in the Western world.

Speaking in a recent interview with Kiss Fresh UK, Davido said, This summer, I was in Europe a lot. I had like two gigs, but I was on vacation. And I saw that the landscape has changed. Two years ago, when I was in Europe, they were playing Afrobeats for straight one hour.

“I mean, people love Afrobeats. Everybody likes that sound now, even in America. Even when we want to collaborate with American artists and we want to do their own sound, they are like, no, no, let’s do Afrobeats.

“Now, the narrative [about Africans] has changed. The respect is there. Not only in music but in fashion, food.”

In other news, Controversial crossdresser Bobrisky has reportedly been rearrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after a recent release from detention.

Previously, the Nigerian Immigration Service had detained Bobrisky over allegations that he attempted to flee Nigeria to avoid a bribery investigation.

Following his initial release earlier in the week, he posted updates on Instagram, revealing a fresh look and making assertive statements.

In a new series of posts, Bobrisky shared that he was apprehended again by EFCC at the airport.

Referring to himself as the “Mummy of Lagos,” Bobrisky claimed to have sustained injuries during the arrest and posted a video to support his allegations against EFCC.

This incident has fueled further discussion online, with many questioning the details surrounding his arrest and ongoing legal troubles.

“Nigerians, Help Me! EFCC Has Just Arrested Me. I’m Badly Injured.”, The post read.
