- Yul noted that in Igbo land, extended families often face beef and envy, yet they attend church on Sundays, which he finds unintelligible.
Yul Edochie, a Nollywood actor and former presidential candidate, has spoken out about the beef and envy among his Igbo people.
Taking to Instagram, he noted that many families and relatives harbor malice towards each other because their parents disparaged the other to them. He mentioned how some people can’t even recall the basis for the quarrel.
Yul went on to say that practically every extended family in Igbo land has beef and envy, but they still go to church on Sundays, which makes no sense to him.
“Many families, cousins are bearing malice against each other, cos of something their parents told them that the other parents did to them donkey years back.
Some can’t even remember the reason for the quarrel.
There’s beef and envy in almost every extended family in Igbo land.
Yet, every Sunday they’re in Church.
Makes no sense”.
Yul Edochie made a similar statement last year, expressing displeasure at the high degree of jealousy among Igbos. He urged them to do better, pointing out how some Igbos who are doing well in life are the biggest haters of their family members.
Yul Edochie raised an important question to the public while preaching love. He wondered why it is difficult for individuals to think clearly, and how many people had to die before realizing that life is short.
He had also issued a call to action to his social media fans and followers about the need of spreading love far and wide. He declared that there is so much hatred and envy in the world that it must be eradicated through love.
