Nigerian online figure Olalekan Ponle, known as Woodberry, and his associate Hushpuppi (Ramon Olorunwa Abbas), expressed their concerns about Nyesom Wike’s plans for beggars in Abuja.
On October 23, Wike, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, announced that authorities would start rounding up beggars beginning Monday.
He made this statement during the launch of a new access road project in Abuja’s Katampe District.
In response, Woodberry pointed out that there are more beggars on social media platforms like WhatsApp and Snapchat than on the streets.
He wrote:
“They are plenty on WhatsApp and Snapchat, sir.”
