The circumstances surrounding the death of late musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known by her stage name Mohbad, have been referred to as a big blow on the image of the music industry by Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, also known as JANDOR, the Lagos PDP governorship candidate in the general elections of 2023.

Recall that on September 12, news of the 27-year-old singer’s passing reached music fans.

Adediran asked for thoroughness in the probe into the musician’s murder in a statement released on Wednesday in Lagos by Mr. Gbenga Ogunleye, Head, Media and Communications JANDOR4GOVERNOR Campaign Organization.

He said: “Mohbad’s death announced on Sept. 12 is shrouded in secrecy and foul play with widespread allegation of complicit of some key players in the music industry.

“The law enforcement agencies need to unravel the truth and ensure no case of injustice is allowed by carrying out thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

“This unfortunate incident and the attendant public outcry on attempts to cover up the matter is a huge draw back to the entertainment industry in the country.”

Adediran lamented the untimely death of such a budding talent as well as the anxiety among music fans on the perceived dangers and shady undercutting going on in the entertainment industry.

This is a big blow on the image of our music industry” he said.

Adediran expressed his sympathy to the late Mohbad’s family and supporters and wished them the strength to endure the unrecoverable loss.

According to NAN, Mr. Idowu Owohunwa, the Lagos State Police Commissioner, has assembled a special team to determine what exactly caused Mohbad’s demise.

The Department of State Security (DSS) has also been invited by the Lagos State Government to participate in the inquiry to determine what caused Mohbad’s death.
