Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has called for clarity on the restructuring of Nigeria, as there appears to be varying meanings to different groups.
The ACF said the apologists of the restructuring of Nigeria should define the meaning of the concept in the present democratic setting.
A statement released after its national executive council meeting on Wednesday in Kaduna, said the only acceptable restructuring, is one that will enhance unity, harmony and peace among Nigerians.
“ACF has observed with keen interest the current nationwide debate on the term, restructuring of the country, as being canvassed by some people, groups and even prominent citizens. The term, however, means different things to different people or groups.
“To some, it is true federalism, whatever that means. For others it is fiscal federalism, while some groups tout resource control, yet we have those for resource ownership.
“ACF notes with regret that those clamouring or demanding for the so-called restructuring are yet to define what they actually mean by the concept and its application in our present democratic setting. In most cases, the meaning depends on which section of the country or where the person advocating it comes from.
“It is, therefore, the considered view of the ACF that any acceptable restructuring meant to improve the unity, stability, harmony and peaceful coexistence of the country must be based on just, fair and equitable principles to all Nigerians that come with clarity of definition,” read the statement signed by Mohammed Biu, ACF publicity secretary.

Recent informations from the Nigerian Senate states that 85% of oil Wells in the southern region are owed and controlled by far away northerners that's why someone from Arewa was so proud to say that they northerners own the oil in Bayelsa and that they are ready to defend it with their own blood.. That's the type of useless country we are living in .where someone will be boasting on something bringing to another man with brute force. The Arewa youths can go about beating their war drum. But I will suggest to them to go home and think very well if they could be so able to defend Arewa and their people should they foolishly cause war to break out in the zoo. Because I can foresee where the war they are demanding came on in a way they could not manage. And I can foresee where everyone is running for safety in Arewa land. A word is enough for the wise.
