Amaju Pinnick, the former head of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), accused Davido of not honoring a paid performance in the energetic city of Warri. Davido responded to Pinnick on social media.
According to Pinnick’s allegations, Davido received a sizable payment of $94,000 along with an additional $18,000 for a plane ticket in exchange for performing in Warri. To many people’s dismay, Davido did not arrive as scheduled.
In a tweet, Davido fired back, reminding Pinnick that “those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.“
It was a clear indication that Davido was suggesting there might be aspects of the story that Pinnick should consider before making accusations.
Davido’s dedication to continuing to perform in Warri was further demonstrated by his remark that nobody has the authority to stop him from doing so.
He left the door open for the possibility that there might be unreported complexity in the story, but he also hinted at not wanting to publish all the complicated specifics of their arrangement.
