Tight Security As Herbert Wigwe’s Burial Holds In Rivers Community (Photos)

Many dignitaries, guests, and mourners have begun to arrive at the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Isiokpo, Ikwerre Local Government Area, Rivers State, for the funeral service of Dr. Herbert Wigwe, former CEO of Access Bank Plc, and his wife, Doreen, and son, Chizzy.

Olatunji Disu, the state commissioner of police, led security personnel to the location.

Members of the clergy, traditional rulers from Omoeke, Wigwe’s hometown, and monarchs from Isiokpo, in general, have already taken their seats.

Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in Isiokpo and adjacent areas.

On Friday, family members and friends gathered in the community for a Christian wake in memory of the departed.

On February 9, 2024, Wigwe, his wife, son, and former Group Chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group, Abimbola Ogunbanjo, were killed in a helicopter accident in a border town in California and Nevada, USA.

Details will be provided later.
