In anticipation of the court’s delivery of rulings on the governorship elections in Kano, Plateau, Lagos, Cross River, Ebonyi, Zamfara, and Bauchi states, security measures have been stepped up inside and outside the grounds of the Supreme court.
Our correspondent saw that heavily armed security guards from the Nigeria Police, Department of State Services, and Nigerian Army had blocked off all roads leading from the Head of Service office to the Apex Court.
Lawyers, party members, and unaffiliated media are also excluded from the court.
In the governorship contests in Lagos, Kano, Zamfara, Plateau, Ebonyi, Bauchi, and Cross River, judgements are anticipated to be rendered.
According to The PUNCH, the supreme court’s rulings on the appeals of the governorship election are final.
