TikToker Sea King Re-Arrested Over Cyberbullying Allegations Against Pastor Adeboye

Popular Nigerian TikToker Olumide Ogunsanwo, widely known as Sea King, was reportedly re-arrested on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at the premises of a magistrate’s court in Ogba, Lagos State.

His latest arrest is linked to allegations of cyberbullying against Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), following remarks made during a live session in December 2024.

Previous Arrest and Charges

Sea King had initially been arrested in December 2024 after posting a video in which he criticized President Bola Tinubu, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun. He was arraigned on charges of treason, cyberstalking, and conduct likely to incite public disorder.

The magistrate’s court later granted him bail set at ₦500,000, with a requirement for two sureties in the same sum.

Re-Arrest During Court Appearance

On Thursday, while attending his ongoing trial, Sea King was taken into custody once again. He was first held at the Lagos State Police Command in Ikeja before being transferred to Abuja.

Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore confirmed the development via a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, February 7, 2025.

Freedom of Expression Concerns

Sea King’s re-arrest has sparked debates among human rights advocates, raising concerns about freedom of speech and the treatment of detainees. Legal proceedings are ongoing, and further updates are expected as the case unfolds.
