Renowned Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson has shared details of his entry into the Nigerian film industry and his first big pay day.

The actor discussed how, in spite of criticism from many around him, he disregarded common sense and followed his passion for performing in an interview.

Timini recalled the several individuals who cautioned him against pursuing a career in Nollywood, pointing out the industry’s alleged lack of financial reward.

The actor stated that his resolve to follow his aspirations persisted in spite of the cautions.

Timini Egbuson credits his debut to a successful audition for a role in the MTV “Shuga” series.

Timini Egbuson described his surprise at receiving his first significant pay cheque from the project.

Timini reflected on his early achievements, emphasizing his dedication to the art and ambition to pursue more lucrative opportunities in the industry.

He said that the misperception about Nollywood’s lack of financial security had originally discouraged him, but it eventually drove his ambition to achieve.

During the conversation, Timini Egbuson also revealed a personal fact about himself: he is 36 years old.

He further distanced himself from his on-screen persona by identifying himself as a “sweet boy,” emphasising that the bad boy roles he frequently plays in films do not reflect his genuine personality.
