President Bola Tinubu attended Chicago State University and received his diploma there in 1979, according to registrar Caleb Westberg, who made the affirmation on Tuesday.

Westberg also acknowledged that the Nigerian President’s admission letter had clearly established his gender and that he had attended the school between 1977 and 1979.

He declared: “Mr. Tinubu’s records contain evidence that he identified as a man when submitting his application to CSU. Mr. Tinubu identified as a man. He was identified as a man in his admissions letter. The greeting reads, “Dear Mr. Tinubu.”

His declarations were recorded in a deposition given in the Chicago, Illinois, office of Angela Liu, the former vice president of the United States, Atiku Abubakar’s legal representative.

While Michael Hayes was representing the CSU in court, Liu’s firm contributed five attorneys to the proceedings on Zoom.

On the other hand, Tinubu was defended by attorney Victor P. Oluwole Afolabi and Henderson. Westberg continued his testimony by informing the court that the institution received five to thirty inquiries per day from people who frantically wanted to confirm whether the president actually attended the university.

The former governor of Lagos was not informed about any of the requests, he further asserted, according to the alma mater.

He deposed, “We believe Bola Tinubu who attended CSU is the same person who is the president of Nigeria today. Tinubu is an unusual name in the US. He matched the records in the file against the information provided by the student or on behalf of the student.

”We believe Bola Tinubu who attended CSU is the same person who is the president of Nigeria today. The university only has diplomas that students didn’t pick up in its possession.

“I have the diploma that was made available to Mr. Enahoro-Ebah in our possession because Mr. Tinubu did not pick it up. I do not have the Diploma that was submitted to INEC in our possession because he had picked it.”

When probed further to confirm if the Tinubu that enrolled at the school was a male or female, the registrar insisted, “Tinubu applied to the university as a male and a letter of admission was issued to a male.”
