President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences to the families who tragically lost their children in a fire incident at an Islamic school in Zamfara State.
The unfortunate event took place on Tuesday night in Kaura Namoda, resulting in the deaths of at least 17 students.
In a statement released on Wednesday and signed by his media aide, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu extended his sympathies to the state government and the proprietors of the school, while also praying for the swift recovery of those receiving medical care.
The President urged all public and private educational institutions to prioritize the safety and security of children at all times and instructed regulatory bodies in the education sector to ensure adherence to safety regulations.
A local resident, Abdulrasaq Bello Kaura, reported that the fire, which erupted on Tuesday night, also left 16 other students injured.
