President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences over the passing of former Anambra State governor, Chukuwuemeka Ezeife (CON).
The president sympathizes with the late Ezeife’s family, the people, and the government of the state over the late governor’s death.
This was said in a statement released on Friday and signed by Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity.
It read, “President Tinubu extols the towering influence of the former federal permanent secretary in Nigeria’s political landscape as well as his leadership credentials, describing his passing as a painful loss.
“The President recalls the contributions the late Chief Ezeife made in the shaping of public discourse and governance in Nigeria, as well as in laying the foundation for the advancement of his dear state.
“While praying for the repose of the soul of the dearly departed, the President encourages his loved ones to take solace in his indelible legacy.”
According to a brief press release signed by Chief Rob Ezeife on behalf of the family and released on Friday, Ezeife passed away at the Federal Medical Centre in Abuja on Thursday, as previously reported by The PUNCH.
The late Ezeife, an Igbo-Ukwu governor from 1992 to 1993, was also known as the Okwadike.
He was eighty-five years old.
