On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu will commemorate Armed Forces Day and the nation’s 50th anniversary of independence in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, alongside other leaders of state and government.
This comes after his week-long visit to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where on November 10 he took part in the Saudi-Africa meeting.
Arriving in Bissau on Thursday, Tinubu is making his second visit to the nation during his government, this time at President Umaro Embalo’s request.
According to a statement released on Wednesday by Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, Guinea-Bissau celebrated its 50th anniversary of independence on September 24, 2023.
All of the festivities, however, were set for November 16, 2023 by the government.
The statement is titled ‘President Tinubu honours invitation to Guinea-Bissau for Independence Day commemoration.’
Ngelale also disclosed that the President is expected to return to Nigeria on Thursday.
