Tobi Amusan Becomes World’s Fastest Woman, Defeats World Champion, Danielle Williams

In a remarkable demonstration of speed and agility, Nigerian sprinter Tobi Amusan surpassed world champion Danielle Williams to secure first place in the 100m hurdles at the Jamaica Athletics Invitational.

Clocking in at an impressive time of 12.40 seconds (0.9m/s), Amusan not only bested the current world champion but also cemented her status as the fastest woman globally.

This extraordinary triumph signifies a significant milestone in Amusan’s athletic journey, as she now holds the top spot in the world rankings, surpassing Tonea Marshall’s previous world-leading time of 12.42 seconds achieved in late April.

With the Paris 2024 Olympics looming ahead, Amusan’s dominance in the 100m hurdles serves as a clear message to her rivals: she is a formidable contender.
