Toddler closes eye to avoid watching Igbo cartoons

• A toddler, whose parents are attempting to teach Igbo through watching Igbo cartoons, refuses to participate in the program.

• Elora, a girl, was observed watching TV, but unable to watch the Igbo cartoon, she closed her eyes to avoid it.

• She opened her eyes and appeared upset as she watched.

A young child, whose parents are attempting to introduce her to the Igbo language through Igbo cartoons, has shown resistance to this approach.

The child, identified as Elora, was recorded while watching television; however, when the Igbo cartoon began, she promptly closed her eyes and maintained this position for as long as possible to evade viewing it.

After a while, she reopened her eyes but appeared distressed as she continued to watch.

Her mother remarked in the video caption, “She doesn’t want to watch Igbo cartoons… no more cocomelon.”
