As the people of Edo decide their number one citizen on Saturday, September 19th, 2020, 483,796 eligible voters would not be able to vote in the state’s Governorship election because they did not collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

7. Ministry Overseeing N-Power Accused Of Misusing Funds
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Sadiya Farouq has been criticised for using a jet to fly over Kainji Dam after the water bank was flooded. Farouq was condemned by Nigerians and was told that she’s wasting public funds when some N-Power beneficiaries haven’t been paid.
The official Twitter handle if the Humanitarian Affairs Ministry posted some images of Farouq conducting aerial view assessment of the Kainji dam to inspect the impact of flooded banks, rather than using other resources that could have made the assessment more efficient. Read more here.
8. Court Delivers Ruling on Popular Nigerian P0rnstar, Tblakhoc Who Shot S3x Act in Osun Osogbo Shrine
A magistrate court in Osogbo on Thursday granted bail to popular Nigerian pornstar, Tobiloba Jolaoso, widely known as Kingtblakhoc, and his film crew who were at the start of this week arrested for shooting a p0rn0graphic movie at the Sacred Osun Grove in Osun State, South-West Nigeria.
Kingtblakhoc was on Monday initially arraigned at a court in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on the grounds of recording a contentious video titled, ‘The Lost Cameroon LaDiva’ at the Osun Osogbo Shrine in July 2020.
9. Schools Reopening: FG Releases Fresh COVID-19 Guidelines
President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration through the Director-General, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu has released fresh guidelines on COVID-19 assessment for schools to adhere to.
According to the NCDC Director-General, Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, local governments and states were also directed to conduct monthly and quarterly COVID-19 risk assessment in schools respectively.
10. Edo Decides 2020: Sensitive Materials Already In LGAs- INEC
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has revealed that all sensitive materials to be used for the Edo governorship election have been dispatched to the various local government areas ahead of the Saturday Governorship election.
Making this announcement in a statement on Thursday, Festus Okoye, the commission’s National Commissioner and Chairman (Information and Voter Education Committee) said INEC was adequately prepared for the governorship poll. Read more here.
